Jan. 7th ~ Paper Pantry

~ Our teens join the rest of our congregation at Refuge Church, in serving our community.  This event is the same time, 6-8pm, as our normal student group time on Wednesday nights.

~ Some teens run list of needs upstairs to be filled, some bring the items back downstairs, and others help load paper product items into client cars (with adult supervision).

~ Paper Pantry is always the first Wednesday night of every month. Every other month the TN Student group meets after Paper Pantry at the Bowling Green DQ, for a cool treat. *We do NOT meet in January!

Jan. 14th ~ Spiritual Habits #1 : Spending Time With God

~ The start of a new year is always a meaningful time to reflect on our spiritual walk and to work on areas that help us grow closer to God. There are four spiritual habits we intentionally focus on throughout the year because they are proven to strengthen our relationship with Him. This month, we will revisit spiritual habit number one: Spending Time With God.

At first, this may seem like an obvious habit. However, because Satan is so crafty in the ways he distracts us from doing just that, it often becomes one of the hardest habits to maintain. To help our students overcome those distractions, we will be sharing a Bible study technique designed to help them truly dive in and focus on God’s Word - our direct line of communication with our Creator.

Jan. 21st ~ Wrapping Up The Book Of Hebrews

~ Back into the book of Hebrews - finally! We will be finishing our time in this amazing book focused on spiritual growth. Be sure to talk with your teens about this study and what they are learning. Refuge Church has purchased a membership to RightNow Media so you, as a family, can access hundreds of video lessons. One resource I personally relied on to better understand Hebrews was a verse by verse study from Verse By Verse Ministry led by Pastor Stephen Armstrong. I highly recommend it!

Jan. 28th ~ Purpose Driven Life

~ There is no better time then the beginning of a new year

to pause and take a “self check” on where we are in our spiritual walk and to seek answers to the question, “What am I here for?” - a topic many teens struggle with. We will explore the teachings of Rick Warren, drawn from his book The Purpose Driven Life, which serves as a road map for a meaningful spiritual journey.
